Office Watercoolers have recently started to offer the new Wellpoint machine.
This is a free-standing kiosk that gives individual employees on-the-spot readings of weight, hydration quota, body mass index, body fat content, heart rate and blood pressure. Each user gets a confidential print-out of the results, while the employer receives an anonymised average of everybody's readings, giving them a snapshot of the health of their workforce.
The data can then be used to develop HR strategies for the workforce in problem areas? such as establishing 'fat fighter' groups or stress reduction programmes.
